Several members of the Democratic Socialists of America have won Democratic nominations for several offices. The party has proposed abolishing the Senate, the Presidency, the Electoral College, and the Supreme Court. They have not told us how they intend to do this.
Article One, Section One, Clause One reads: "All legislative Power herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and a House of Representatives."
Article Two, Section One, Clause One reads: "The executive Power of the United States shall be vested in a President of the United States."
Clauses Two and Three describe the Electoral College and how it should function.
Article Three, Section One reads: The judicial Power of the United States shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.
Article Five, Clause One describes the necessary procedure to change any of the above. "The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this
Constitution, or, on application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments."
I do not see two-thirds of the Senate voting itself out of existence.
No one should vote for the DSA just because there is a "D" next to their name.
