As a young adult, I firmly believe that Stacy Garrity would assist young Pennsylvanians across our Commonwealth. For one, her leadership as state treasurer has helped over 107,000 Pennsylvania families receive $1,000 bonuses to their PA 529 accounts, which help with education costs. Should she help Pennsylvania unleash its energy potential, our electricity rates could plummet.
Pennsylvania currently pays much higher electricity rates per kWh than the bordering states of Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and Delaware. Given Pennsylvania's abundance of natural gas, increased drilling could help us all save a little more for repaying loans, a down payment on a house, or even just some extra money to invest in an IRA.
