Disappointed in Lakemont’s direction

2 min read

Lakemont Park has lost its meaning of being a park.

It used to be a place to have a good time and a lot of fun.

Riding all of the different amusement rides during a visit was what a good day at the park had been.

There were places to buy a lot of park-based snacks. The most popular was candied apples. There was also an arcade in which to play games.

The merry-go-round was a wonderful ride for all ages. There were all kinds of rides for young children.

There were other rides for older children and adults. Park visitors could take a ride on the lake in a ferry boat and ride the train around.

They could also rent a rowboat and paddle across the lake.

The Casino used to be a place for teenagers to attend a dance on Saturday nights with live local bands in the summer until the 1970s.

But, now Lakemont Park is no longer a park but a sports venue and a business community.

There is no fun to be had, and it is not a good place to take young children or for adults to have a day of fun.
