In light of the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk and the aftermath, I am trying to understand how citizens of the greatest country in the world can be so cruel and heartless.
Politics aside, this young man was a son, a husband, a father and a human being. Where is the compassion for the family's loss?
Instead, people are actually celebrating his death, writing songs and dancing with joy. I've seen videos of people trampling his memorial. Amazon was selling T-shirts depicting the blood stains. How could someone be so depraved to think this behavior is acceptable?
Loss of any life, regardless of circumstances is tragic, especially a young person. Mr. Kirk had young children who will now grow up without a father. His wife lost her soulmate, leaving an empty place in her heart. His parents lost a son. As a mother of 3 young men around his age, I can't even imagine the grief and pain of their loss.
Regardless of a person's race, religion, politics or any other criteria, no one has the right to celebrate the death of another human being. I believe in free speech, but not at the expense of hurting another person, no one has that right. Show some humanity and compassion.
