Cove teacher was within her rights

1 min read

Janelle Parker, a teacher at Spring Cove School District, recently expressed her First Amendment Right of Free Speech on Facebook about Charlie Kirk and his murder.

She also expressed her opinion of Donald Trump in a negative manner, which is also covered under the First Amendment.

Her First Amendment speech was quickly responded to by angry comments and a demand for her to be fired at a school board meeting.

These people were also expressing their First Amendment rights while demanding that Ms. Parker be denied hers and she be punished for using her rights of free speech.

Kirk was a White Nationalist Christian who promoted supremacy of his beliefs over all other thoughts and beliefs.

His words on his program and his speeches rallied people against all others, with an emphasis on all gay people and anyone with a different social or political view.

Let me be clear: I do not approve of the action taken by the 22-year-old, if it was he who murdered Kirk.

However, I do agree with Ms. Parker in that Kirk died by what he was promoting in his free speech.
