Trump’s big beautiful bill isn’t so great

President Donald Trump’s antipathy toward working class Americans has never been more evident or pronounced.

His big, beautiful bill will add $4 trillion to the national debt, while at the same time, boot untold millions from Medicaid and SNAP benefits.

It has been estimated by the office of budget and management that there will be significant fallout resulting in the closing of rural hospitals and health care providers.

Trump touts this bill as a populist movement when, in fact, it is at this time 25% underwater with voters. Tax breaks are as follows: 60% of tax cuts will go to 20% of the population, millionaires and billionaires while the remaining 40% will be distributed to the remaining population.

Think of people in nursing homes and assisted living facilities waiting at the curb for a family member to collect them when those facilities are shuttered. The increase in child poverty and food insecurity is incalculable.

At the time of this editorial, there are 17.6 veterans a day committing suicide, while at the same time, there are efforts to privatize VA hospitals. This is cruel and unconscionable as well as inhumane.

As Ronald Reagan said so well, we are the nation on the hill, we are now in the basement.

Take the time to read as much as possible of the minutia of this bill and contact your elected representatives to say we will not stand for this inhumanity any longer.

Come together America to make a stand and make a difference.
