I know our district is deep Trump country, but hear me out, because many of us are tired of the chaos.
The drama between Donald Trump and Elon Musk has me convinced we need a new way forward. Musk (an American citizen) isn't perfect. You don't have to like the A.I. nonsense, his ego or his salutes, but he's an innovator.
Trump (with all his flaws) had some good instincts, but his "Big Beautiful Bill" was the last straw.
Republican politicians know better, but they keep nodding along, terrified of MAGA rage. We deserve a party that stands for something, not just whatever Trump's mood is that day.
That's why I'm excited about Musk's new America Party. Some say a third party has never succeeded, but the GOP started out as one.
Some are worried about pulling too much support from one side, but Libertarian Party voters come equally from both sides.
And Musk can personally spend hundreds of times what the Libertarians can and has a knack for building things from the ground up (with generous public funding), like SpaceX. And with popular election reforms like ranked-choice voting, his America Party could be a viable force, not just a protest vote.
It's aiming for practical policies: innovation, free expression and accountable government, all while staying moderate on divisive stuff.
That's the kind of platform that could draw voters of all stripes. Imagine a party for the majority of us who want results, not drama, cruelty and uncertainty.
