I was on a trip to Kentucky recently. Along the way, I watched thousands of trees swaying back and forth in the wind.
It made me wonder about the one seed that started it all. How the sun, wind and rain nurtured them to grow in order to give us the oxygen we need to improve our air quality of life. The fruit that gives our body nutrients, the flowers that make us see the beauty of nature, which in turn gives our mind and body a sense of peace. Also, the mention of the shade that protects us from the heat.
When I got to my destination to visit a newborn baby, the thought of that one seed came back into my memory.
Only this time into a human being, needing to be nurtured and cared for as she begins the cycle of life.
She will encounter storms that will test her patience. The fruit she will bear can give her love and peace.
All of these thoughts began with the vision of thousands of trees blowing in the wind. Each of us was planted from that one seed, only to give something of ourselves to share into that full circle of life. God is good.
