I am writing to ask you to vote for Lou Schmitt to be our judge. I have known Lou since he was a grade-schooler at Saint Mary's school in Altoona.
We were childhood friends, and played basketball at the "Tot Lot" in our Dutch Hill neighborhood. As a kid, he was tough, because he had to be. He wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and had some tough times growing up.
He was always intelligent, thoughtful and considerate. Those qualities have stayed with him. Nothing was ever handed to him, and he worked his way to success, first as an athlete, then as a lawyer and then as an elected official.
He is devoted to our local citizens, and cares about others. He will work hard to alleviate the backlog of cases in Blair County courts. He possesses many qualities that will make him a fine judge.
