‘Little Mermaid’ wonderful, magical
I attended “The Little Mermaid” on April 4 at AAHS performed by the Drama Club of Altoona High School. You (Mirror) had a fantastic review on this musical and I will concentrate on my total enjoyment of the production.
It was a wonderful and magical night and the longer the program went on, the more I felt like I was in New York City. It was a sold out event, and what a great musical by our local high school students and staff.
The orchestra was amazing and transformed us into the sea and back to land with magnificent solos all evening. Ariel had an amazing crystal clear voice with high soprano qualities. Prince Eric, who truly captured Ariel’s heart and love, has the beginning of a fine tenor voice. The voices and actions of the “AAHS Faculty Poor Unfortunate Souls and AAHS Faculty Sailors” were charming and sincere. I really enjoyed all the sights and sounds of “Maids and Butlers Ensemble” throughout the production. It gave you a real sense and enjoyment of the food.
I was thrilled to view all the rhythmic sightings of “Leeward and Windward” (Seahorses) throughout the evening. Ariel and Prince Eric were outstanding and entertaining with their activities. It was a beautiful love story involving two families that would not normally be certified. I loved the antics and costumes of “Grimsby” by Ethan Peterman.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this musical “The Little Mermaid.” Altoona can stand proud with this school and staff, community productions. What a great evening and legacy from AAHS.
