Little Orchard Park should be saved
I believe our city should be focusing on creating an environment that encourages our youth to stay. I’m sure you can all relate to treasured childhood memories spent at the local park exploring with friends.
It’s unfortunate that the reality is the city’s population is on the decline. Through my love of plants, I’ve had a unique opportunity with Ecotopian Earthcare to see a growing trend in environmental conservation.
Students who volunteer have said they have to relocate because unfortunately the opportunities are not here.
It’s my understanding the city did adopt a new Comprehensive Plan in July.
The focus is on creating green spaces, trail development.
However, I see that plan is not being taken seriously due to the destruction of Little Orchard Park. I believe parks and trail development will promote tourism. People want to gather and spend their money in areas that are warm and inviting. Green spaces have a natural calming effect. Let’s come together and save this park.
