Elected officials must remember the people
Our elected representatives need to stand up for the people who elected them. Our system of government is to remain a balance of power. We need them to protect our democracy and our democratic principles, not blindly support an administration bent on undoing the laws and safeguards that are in place.
Elected representatives should protect the rights of all people to have appropriate health care, protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, protect the voting rights of all people and ensure a fair election process, work to ensure that capable, knowledgeable people lead our governmental departments, work to ensure that we maintain positive relationships with our allies, work to maintain our connections with international health organizations and base decisions on scientific evidence as we do our best to mitigate climate change.
