On his first day in office, President Donald Trump pardoned those who attacked our Capitol, showing such a lack of respect for this country and everything it's supposed to stand for.
Many Americans find this reprehensible. If I were one of those pardoned by Trump, I would be afraid that the family members of the officers injured or killed would be looking for a little payback.
Trump's bully pulpit is toxic.
He wants to buy the Gaza strip and disregard the Palestinians. He pulled us out of the WHO. He has dismantled USAID. He surrounds himself with unknowns who are not remotely qualified for the positions they were given. His selection of Pete Hegseth was no surprise. Trump, himself, was found guilty of sexual assault. He's in fine company, although as far as I know Hegseth is not a convicted felon.
And how did unelected Elon Musk get such a foothold in our nation's politics? Instead of deleting agencies, as he suggests, let's stop giving billions in subsidies to big oil and to countries that hate us.
What a bunch of fools we have in the White House. What must other countries think of us? Everything Trump has done thus far is offensive, destructive and dangerous.
I don't understand why so many people are intimidated by him. He is one man. Even with the Supreme Court in his pocket, there has to be enough good guys out there to stop him in his tracks.
