Anyone who is reading this opinion agrees with me, shake your head yes. My good health allows me to work along with my Social Security check, so I can pay my taxes before they come due in order to have the benefit of an early discount.
Lucky for us on Social Security, we got an increase on our monthly check. WOW. Soon after, I got a letter in the mail that my Medicare payment has an increase. Good thing I got a raise in Social Security.
What a joke.
I am one who was able to invest in my savings account so my when golden years came, I could relax in my home that is paid for and enjoy the later part of my life without worry.
I read in the newspaper that my taxes are going up again. How do the people who are raising our taxes think that we, who are on a budget, are going survive these increases every year?
Some who still owe on their homes will probably lose them eventually.
I agree there is a need for certain things to keep our system afloat, but there is a need to change the tax law, for people after a certain age should not have to pay these ridiculous taxes.
Give us a break. The welfare system is overextended, but it looks like a way to keep your home, good food and no taxes maybe. It's a thought.
