Sad experience at Horseshoe Curve
Over Memorial Day weekend, our family decided to visit the Horseshoe Curve.
Some of us had not visited in many years.
The property is still beautiful. However, it is surrounded by so much negativity with posted signs and chained and padlocked fences.
Such as: No trespassing, private property, keep out, no admittance beyond this point, no public restrooms.
Some of the family were not able to make the trek up the steps and planned to wait below, maybe visit the gift shop.
The saddest part of this experience comes now.
You cannot visit the gift shop unless you pay the $9 admittance fee. One of our party needed to use the restroom.
That’s not allowed, unless you pay the $9 admission fee.
There has got to be a better way. This is in a pretty remote location. People need to use the restroom, and they should not have to pay any amount of money to do that.
Port-a-potties are not that expensive if that is your only option. You need to do better, Altoona Railroaders Memorial Museum.
This is a beautiful space in our own backyard. Don’t make it so difficult for locals to enjoy it.
