Now that the Pennsylvania spring primary is over, and although not all the votes are counted and a certified election isn't in the books, I think it's important to mention what happened this election.
In the race between Jim Gregory and Scott Barger, with Gregory being the incumbent, voters in Blair County proved that a law for term limits isn't needed.
Not that any politician would vote to end their own job.
Not taking sides, just observing that the voters were unhappy with Gregory and decided they didn't want him representing them any longer.
Two upsides to this race were that it was a clean race citing facts and not personalities; the other upside is finally voters should realize that they control who represents them and they always have.
Perhaps more people paid attention to the things going on in this particular office and said we've had enough and are making a change.
I sincerely hope that this trend continues.
Look at the candidates, research their positions, and in the case of an incumbent, their voting record and how they manifest their representation of their constituents.
Maybe, just maybe, we the people can take back our constitutional republic and become the country many of us remember.
