As I followed the Mirror articles throughout the late spring regarding the city's discussions about the feasibility of opening Prospect Pool, I was skeptical that all of the charitable effort and volunteer labor would translate into a prosperous summer.
While I do not know whether the financial gain of operating the pool outweighed the work, I do know that the facility provided a necessary venue for fitness and leisure over this sweltering season.
A regular swimmer at the YMCA, I was keen to take advantage of the $2 senior swim offered every Tuesday through Friday morning.
Nothing compares to outdoor exercise, and Prospect provided a clean, pleasant and safe spot to lap in the sunshine and alter the monotony of the indoor pool.
Thank you to all those invested in keeping this much needed installation open and operational.
I am looking forward to even more workouts there next summer.
