‘Greatest president?’ That would be Trump

3 min read

It never ceases to amaze me that two people can observe the same set of behavior and speech and come to two diametrically opposed conclusions.

While the left and several recent letter writers seem to regard President Donald Trump as the spawn of Satan, I believe he is the greatest president of my 71-year lifetime, and the first since Reagan to give a hoot about the hard-working American tax-paying citizens.

They never give any details about what he did wrong. They just call him every name and think that settles the argument.

Do I think Trump is perfect? Certainly not.

My Bible says "There is none righteous, no, not one."

But I give a thumbs-up to the recent letter by Alan Krier, who defended Trump's record and listed several accomplishments. Let me add a few more.

Jewish embassy moved to Jerusalem; Al Bagdadi and Solemani taken out; ISIS decimated; over 50 hostages and political prisoners brought home from adversarial countries; troops returned home, out of harm's way; no new wars; record low unemployment prior to COVID-19; energy independence; and through it all, he accepted no paycheck.

That's $1.6 million donated to charity.

The Democrats (and a lot of the GOP) go into government to get rich, bellied up to the public trough, and sucking in millions from swamp lobbyists.

I understand why they didn't like Trump. He threatened their cushy gig, and the swamp couldn't control him. He didn't need them.

They call Trump a dictator, but dictators force the populace under their control, and disarm them so they can't defend themselves from the tyranny.

Which party does that remind you of? With the Dems, everything is political -- that is, everything they do with an eye to how it will benefit them politically, and consolidate their power over the American people.

Nancy Pelosi even admitted it. They will do anything to win, with no conscience about how it will negatively affect us. And everything they accuse Republicans of is things they are already doing.

Check the whole Russia hoax. Now President Joe Biden, smiling Joe, the king of unity, is still pushing Trump's impeachment, and in his acceptance speech, I think he implied that 75 million Trump voters are white supremacists and domestic terrorists.

Good start on unity. Dems' definition of unity is "shut up and fall in line, or else," just as their definition of bipartisanship is for the GOP to cave in to their agenda.

Trump, 2024.
