Denise Ann (Basal) Locke, 71, passed away Friday, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Ashville, daughter of Robert and Jean (Bearer) Basal.
Denise was a 1973 graduate of Penn Cambria High School. Following graduation, she was employed at what was Bell Telephone. She retired from Verizon in November 2007.
She is survived by her beloved husband, William "Bill" Locke; siblings: Bobbi Jean, Ginny, Charlie and Joe; a sister-in-law, Carol Locke; and with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother-in-law, Dennis Fontanella.
Denise enjoyed flowers, extensive travel and shopping, especially with her sister, Bobbi, and her best friend, Linda.
Family and friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, at Gibbons-Penksa Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
