Shirley L. Stoy, 89, Ashville, passed away Thursday at home. She was born in Ellerslie, Md., daughter of the late John and Ethel (Lowery) Imler.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Stoy; and all five of her siblings.
Shirley is survived by her sons: Andrew, Raymond, David and Scott Stoy; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and the Armed Forces Mothers.
Shirley retired as a seamstress and enjoyed that work. She also enjoyed baking and making wedding cakes, spending time with her family and being a loving mother.
Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, at Gibbons-Penksa Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 159 Hickory St., Ashville, with Father Bob Reese officiating. Interment at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
