Rand T. Killian

April 7, 1958 – Aug. 15, 2026

Rand T. Killian passed away quietly on Aug. 15, 2026, at his home in Hollidaysburg after a four-year battle with cancer. He was 68 years old. Rand was born in Harrisburg, son of the late Huston Killian and Dorothea Bunn Killian.

He is survived by three brothers: Huston Killian and wife, Jennifer, of Marysville; Scott Killian and his husband, Ron, of North Bergen, N.J.; and Douglas Killian and his wife, Judith, of Dauphin; and numerous nephews and nieces. Rand also had two close friends, Christina Puhatch and Phyllis Vandrew, who helped him through his struggles with cancer.

Growing up, Rand was known for his dry sense of humor and was a serious prankster. He was an excellent artist, and upon graduating high school, attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia.

He eventually started working for the Postal Service in Brooklyn, N.Y., and transferred to Hollidaysburg more than 11 years ago. He finally retired with 28 years of service.

Rand spent his remaining years of retirement exploring the sights of the local region and antiquing with his friends. He had an insatiable curiosity and sought out the more unusual places to visit.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, at Rose Hill Funeral & Cremation Care, 118 Rosehill Cemetery Drive, Altoona.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that any memorial gifts be made to the Bob Perks Fund, P.O. Box 313, State College, PA 16804.
