Nancy L. (Sheetz) Boling, 88, of Altoona, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, after a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of Altoona, the daughter of Gerald and Kathleen (Harshbarger) Sheetz.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin Toomey (married to Steve "Toe" Toomey); her grandchildren, Stephen Toomey (Kristhy) and Erin Toomey; her great-grandchildren, Liam Toomey and Ximena Toomey; her brothers: Bob Sheetz, Charlie Sheetz and Louie Sheetz; her sister, Marge Focarelli; and many nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers: Joseph Sheetz, Stephen Sheetz and James Sheetz.
Nancy was a 1956 graduate of Altoona High School and received a degree in Elementary Education from Saint Francis University. She made a difference in the lives of many Blair County children as a devoted first grade teacher at Baker Elementary School for 35 years.
Nancy was a member of the Altoona Women's Club. She enjoyed spending time at her beach house in Stone Harbor, N.J., walking every day with her group of ladies and sharing breakfast together and spending time with her family and dogs. She was a devoted dog lover.
Nancy will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Friends and family will be received from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, at The Good Funeral Home. A memorial will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, at The Good Funeral Home, officiated by Brian Detwiler.
