Charles E. "Chas" Johnson, 69, of Duncansville, passed away Wednesday. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Robert and Esther (Coder) Johnson.
He married Tami Hoover in 1983.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years; a son, Zachary (Rachel); four grandchildren: Ryan, Mason, Gage and Alexis; three sisters: Deborah Steplowski, Evelyn Moyer and Melodee Seasoltz; a brother, Timothy; numerous nieces; and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew, in 2025; two sisters, Peggy Johnson and Mildred Kline; and two brothers, Robert and Richard.
Chas was a 1975 graduate of Altoona Area High School, where he was a member of the marching band.
He retired as an office manager from McClure & McClure.
Chas enjoyed basketball, softball and Penn State and Steelers Football.
