Richard H. "Poppy" Scanlan, 90, Ebensburg, died Wednesday. He was born in Ebensburg, and preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Emma (Steilan) Scanlan; and siblings: Betty, Rita, Bernard, Russell and Edward. Surviving are his wife, Judy; children: Greg, Jeff and Brian; stepchildren: Christi Romanko, Tammy Care and William Tremba; numerous grandchildren; and a brother, Dr. Raymond Scanlan. A gathering will be held from 1 until the 2 p.m. celebration of life Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Nanty Glo. Arrangements are by Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg.
