Regis Carl Watt, 79, of Altoona, died Saturday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Ashville, a son of the late Thomas and Mary (Weber) Watt.
On Nov. 16, 2009, he married Jodi L. Bell.
Surviving are his wife; children: Katherine (Dale) Cherry, Regina (Thomas) Goss, Brenda (Jeff) Rigsby, Candice Trump, Holly (Jason Baker) Ellis and Tamara Watt; stepchildren: Gregory, Tyler and Nicholas Martin; grandchildren: Jessica and Brandon Cherry, Brian and Sarah Goss, Victoria and Gary McComis, William and Katherine Lykens, Kayla Horton, Darren and Devyn Ellis and Kenneth Watt-Wiegmann; great-grandchildren: Ella, River, Rowan, Mackenzie, Colton and Cooper Cherry, Caden Goss, Killian, Samuel and Mathias McComis, Peyton and Elijah York, Arya Stewart and Rose Ellis; his siblings: Russell (Kris) Watt, Gloria Kowalski, Doris (Gerald) Eckenrode and Carol (Ken) Haluska; and his canine companion, Oscar.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph and Roger Watt.
He was a graduate of the Altoona Vocational Technical School's heavy machine mechanic program.
Regis served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War era on the USS Plymouth Rock.
He retired as a distribution clerk at the United States Postal Service Duncansville office.
Regis was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates and the Altoona Curve. He enjoyed bingo and trivia at Fort Apache VFW Juniata.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, at the funeral home, with Pastor Randy Zitterbart officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
The family suggests that contributions in Regis' memory be made to Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602; or Fort Apache VFW, Juniata.
