Regina M. Walter, 87, Claysburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday.
She was the daughter of the late Paul and Madaline (Byers) Burk.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Edmundson; her son, Ray Walter; her grandchildren: Melissa Miller, David Edmundson, Kristy Black, Curtis Walter, Joshua Walter, Joe Housel and Ashley Walter; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and two sisters, Mary Talbert and Cecilia Sullivan.
Regina was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Mary Housel; an infant daughter, Candy; seven brothers; a sister; and her former husband, Levi E. Walter.
Regina lived a life centered around two things that meant the most to her, her faith in the Lord and her family. She loved the Lord deeply and her faith was the foundation of her life. She carried that faith with her through every season and leaves behind a legacy that is best described simply as love -- a love for God and an unwavering love for her family.
After raising her own children, Regina devoted herself to her grandchildren. She was an ever-present and loving grandmother, always there to cheer them on at school functions, sporting events and all of the important moments in their lives. She made sure her grandchildren knew they were loved, supported and never alone. Her presence and love became a treasured part of their lives.
Though her family will deeply miss her, they find comfort in knowing that Regina is now with the Lord she loved so dearly and her loved ones who have gone before her. Her greatest legacy will live on through the family she loved so faithfully and the many lives she touched with her presence, her faith and her unconditional love.
Friends will be received from 4 until the 6 p.m. funeral service Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, at Harry E. Miller Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Claysburg, Pastor David Huston officiating. Interment will be at Claysburg Union Cemetery.
