Neva Dawne Mohney

Neva Dawne Mohney, 89, a resident of Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona, formerly of Claysburg, passed away Tuesday at the home. She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Huston Earl and Evelyn (Snyder) Robison.

She married Edward L. Mohney on Feb. 17, 1957, in Roaring Spring. He passed away Nov. 5, 2021.

Surviving are her daughter, Gwenna Heffner, and husband, James, of Freeport; two sons, Kyle Mohney and wife, Janice, of Coplay and Troy Mohney and wife, Lora, of Lingelestown; seven grandchildren: Zachary, Mara, Alexanderia, Ryan, Darren, Joshua and Nelson; and eight great-grandchildren: Landon, Lorelei, Claire, Daisy, Rylee, Ava, Tyler and Abby.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ian Mohney; and a brother, Huston "Dude" Robison.

Neva was a graduate of Roaring Spring High School and retired from Sylvania after 25 years of service.

She enjoyed playing softball, bowling, archery, shooting 22s at the Three Valley Sportsman's Club, going to the beach, crocheting, planting irises and watching them bloom and spending time with her grandchildren.

Friends will be received from noon until the 2 p.m. funeral service Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, at Harry E. Miller Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Claysburg, with Pastor Erik Lingenfelter officiating.

Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Emmanuel Baptist Church Missions Fund, 480 Emmanuel Drive, Claysburg, PA 16625.
