Mary M. Aurandt, 90, formerly of East Freedom, went home to be with the Lord on Monday at Homewood Living, Martinsburg. Mary was born in East Freedom, daughter of the late John and Lilly (Smith) Bowser.
On Oct. 25, 1958, she married Floyd L. Aurandt, who preceded her in death on July 14, 2019.
Surviving are five children: Cindy (Tim) Cowan, Vicky (John) Richards, Craig, Michelle (Troy) McCarty and Glen (Xuemei); four grandchildren: Dorian and Marc (Laura) McCreary and Chris and Emily McCarty; three great-grandchildren: Dominic, Charlie and Paige McCreary; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Thelma (Robert) Snyder; and brother, Melvin (Vivian) Bowser.
Mary graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1954 and worked at Butterick Co. Inc. in Altoona prior to starting her family.
Mary devoted her life to her husband, raising her children and caring for their home.
Beginning with taking her parents for drives, Mary always enjoyed driving, riding on the back of Floyd's motorcycle and traveling whenever the opportunity arose. She enjoyed music and loved her pets.
Through the years Mary attended Puzzletown Bible Church, Liberty Bible Church and Altoona Bible Church.
To honor Mary's wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral services.

The family would like to thank Gaile, Robin and Alison for the compassionate care they provided, allowing Mom to extend her time at home. Finally, thank you to all of those employed at The Winds and Homewood for your role in providing gracious living for your residents.
