Mabelle "Mae" Polo-Fanelli, 61, of Blairsville, Ga., passed away Aug. 6, 2026. She was born in The City of David in the Province of Chiriqui in Panama, daughter of the late Niconor Antonio and EnsaCheva de Polo.
She married Mark Fanelli, who survives; along with three children: Keegan Moore-Polo, Maia Moore-Polo and Brianna Moore-Polo; and two grandchildren, Rosalee and Alijah.
Mae was the last of 10 children, with seven brothers and two sisters preceding her in death.
She moved to the United States at the age of 18 and attended Louisiana State University. Mae graduated from Millersville University with a BA in Spanish and a minor in English as a second language.
Mae worked as a medical language interpreter for Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital and was proud of her ability to help families in times of need. She always gave of herself and brightened the dreariest of days of those around her with her charm, wit and humor. Mae will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
A reception of family and friends will be held from noon until 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.
