Lawrence D. "Larry" Carter, 80, of Altoona, passed away Aug. 30, 2026. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late William L. and Shirley J. (Boland) Carter. On Oct. 9, 1966, he married Nancy J. Jones at Smith Corners Mennonite Church, RD East Freedom. Larry is survived by his wife; daughters, Jessica B. Carter of Harrisburg and Valerie C. Carter of Williamsport; grandchildren, Demetri and Dakota Hall; and siblings: Connie J. Trimer, Timothy U. Carter and Nelda K. Sharbaugh. A gathering will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., 719 N. Fourth Ave., Altoona.
