Jack A. Thompson, 82, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Monday at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg. He was born in New York, N.Y., son of the late William and Lola (Byers) Thompson.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy; a daughter, April Thompson and husband, Darrell Brown, of Aspers; a son, Lee Thompson and wife, Lois, of State College; two grandchildren, Derek Horner and Leah Tussey and husband, Adam; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four siblings: Chauncey, Dale and Alan Thompson and Beverley Edwards.
Jack attended Chardon Local School District in Ohio and retired from ShopRite of Rockaway, N.J., after 48 years.
He was known for being an avid sports fan, especially the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Jack lived a life defined by a sense of humor, quiet strength and an unwavering devotion to those he cherished.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept 14, 2026, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Paul McReynolds officiating.
