Florence M. "Flo" Zeak, 93, formerly of Altoona, died early Friday morning at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg. She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Fred H. and Mary A. (Glass) Wolf.
She married Eugene T. "Gene" Zeak on March 29, 1956, in Winchester, Va. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2011.
Surviving are six children: son, David F. Zeak, and wife, Karen; daughter, Diana L. McClure, and husband, Mike; daughter, Patricia M. Seymour, and husband, Jim; son, Michael F. Zeak, and wife, Cindy; daughter, Deborah A. Biddle, and husband, Ron; son, Dennis J. Zeak, and wife, Collene; 14 grandchildren: Matthew, Brian, Christina, Sarah, Michael, Joseph, Nicole, Katelyn, Karrie, Samantha,
Julianne, Jessica, Amanda and Megan; 22 great-grandchildren and an expected great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Rose Beiswenger (William) and Mary Bajer (Fritz).
Flo was preceded in death by eight siblings.
Mrs. Zeak was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altoona.
She was a member of the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII with the WAVES.
She retired as a clerk from the former Hills Department Store after more than 20 years' service. She had previously been employed at Butterick Co. Inc.
She enjoyed embroidery and watching "The Waltons," but her greatest love was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at family gatherings.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil service for the deceased will be held.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1405 Fifth Ave., Altoona, with Father Mariusz Gorazd, celebrant.
Committal rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations please be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, "Memorial Giving," 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or to Garvey Manor Nursing Home, 1037 S. Logan Blvd., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
