Dianne M. (Harkless) Geist, 78, of Altoona, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at Hilltop Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Irvin and Marilynn (Sharer) Harkless.
On May 21, 1983, Dianne married Charles P. Geist.
Dianne was a 1966 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School. She dedicated 30 years of service as a Ward Secretary for Mercy Hospital prior to her retirement.
Above all, Dianne cherished spending time with her family and loved cheering on her children and grandchildren at their sporting events.
She is survived by her husband, Charles P. Geist; three children: Bryan Hawley (Jinny) in California, Gregory Geist of Altoona and Douglas Geist (Tiffany) of Cresson; two grandchildren: Madison Geist and Mason Geist; a great-grandson, Bennett Scott Lego; her brother, Ronald Harkless (Lynn) in North Carolina; her half-brother, Kevin Harkless (Jolinda) of Newton Hamilton; numerous nieces; a nephew; and many cousins.
In addition to her parents, Dianne was preceded in death by her in-laws, Charles and Dorothy Geist.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, at the funeral home, with James Neatrour officiating.
Private interment will be at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
