William J. Karlheim, 66, Canton, Ohio, formerly of Patton, passed away. He was born on Nov. 18, 1959, in Carrolltown, the son of the late James "JJ" and Mary E. (Donaldson) Karlheim.
He is survived by brothers and sisters: Elaine (Ronald) Allison, Stephen (Brenda) Karlheim, Daniel (Sandy) Karlheim, Janet (Duane) Bender, Ronald Karlheim, Robert Karlheim, Nancy (Eric) White and James E. Karlheim; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, David Charles in infancy.
William was a 1977 graduate of Cambria Heights High School. He then graduated from Harry S. Lundeberg School of Seafarers, Piney Point, Maryland, in 1980.
William retired from the Merchant Marines after many years of service.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton, by Benedictine Fathers.
Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Patton.
