Sherry Ann DiGiorgio

Sherry Ann DiGiorgio, 81, Duncansville, formerly of Venice Island, Fla., died Friday surrounded by family after a brief illness. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Herman J. and Betty (Jones) Resig.

Surviving are a son, Brett DiGiorgio, in Colorado; a granddaughter, Brittany Jasmine Scott; and a great-grandson, Malik Scott, both in Colorado; a brother, Randy Barry (Carol) of Roaring Spring; a sister-in-law, Dolly Resig of Duncansville; a niece, Cara Carnes of Pittsburgh; and two nephews, Raymond Resig of Claysburg and Ben Resig of Winchester, Va. She is also survived by Norma Bennett and Sandy Yeager, whose home Sherry was raised in.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike and Greg Resig; and a nephew, Marc Resig.

Sherry was a 1963 graduate of Altoona High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Venice Island.

She loved watching movies and enjoyed anything to do with animals, especially her beloved pets.

A committal service will be held at New Canoe Creek Cemetery, with Chaplain Tim Guyer, at a later date.
