Robert Paul Weyant, 85, Claysburg, passed away Monday at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center.
He was born in Claysburg, son of the late William Clarence "Stoner" and Anna Elizabeth (Robinson) Weyant. On July 24, 1961, he married Sylvia Etta Dively in Cumberland, Md. She passed away on Sept. 30, 1997.
Surviving are a daughter, Laura Mowry, and husband, Travis; a son, Kevin "Bull" Weyant; five grandchildren: Kevin Shane Weyant, Ryan Kimble, Alicia "Bubba" Tenley, Taylor Smoyer (Linden) and Tyler Mowry; a great-granddaughter, Keeili Weyant; sisters, Sharon Patterson (Fred) and Beverly Sikora (Nick); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters: Shirley Jean Smith, Gloria Ford and Janet Campbell; brothers, Charles "Cigar Charlie" and William "Hillbilly" Weyant; and someone who was close and a huge part of his life for decades, Barbara Ickes.
Robert retired in 2009 as a self-employed logger contracted with Appleton Papers. He was previously employed at the trailer factory, the brickyard, Paul Claar logging, as a truck driver and at Blue Knob Ski Resort. He was affiliated with Emmanuel Baptist Church, Claysburg, and was a life member of the Beaverdale Sportsmen's Association and the NRA.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering with old cars and machinery and talking with his many friends at his local hangouts, the Truck Stop, NAPA and Brady's. Family was important to Robert, whether working in the woods with his son for many years, spending time at his cabin with his special buddy Tyler or family gatherings, where he was able to enjoy one last gathering with his granddaughter. Robert was a loving husband and father, who loved his family very much and was very proud of his kids and cherished all his grandchildren. Taylor and Tyler had a very special place in their Pappy's heart.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, at Harry E. Miller Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Claysburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 480 Emmanuel Drive, Claysburg, Pastor Erik Lingenfelter officiating. Interment will be at Upper Claar Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Emmanuel Baptist Church.
