Robert Ingraham "Bob" Donaldson, 96, of Hollidaysburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, surrounded by family, at The Lutheran Home, Hollidaysburg. Robert was born in Altoona, the son of James and Luella Martha (Ingraham) Donaldson.
He married Constance Williamson on Aug. 17, 1952, at Fairview Methodist Church, Altoona.
Surviving are his four children: Robert S. Donaldson (Alane Timmerman) of Altoona, Mark I. Donaldson (Cindy) of Hendersonville, N.C., Susan D. Barton (Edward) of Hollidaysburg and David C. Donaldson of Hollidaysburg; nine grandchildren: Jessica Winter (John), Andrew Donaldson, Elisabeth Sherman (Brian), Lauren McCrary (Adam), Sarah Donaldson, Matthew Barton, Kathryn Greenberg (Joshua), Robert Donaldson (Molly) and Josiah Barton (Suzanne); 10 great-grandchildren: Henry Winter, Grace and Henry Sherman, Abram, Park and Eliza McCrary, Ingrid Barton, Logan and Emily Greenberg and Finley Donaldson. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Ronald Dekker of Hollidaysburg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie; parents; stepfather, Alvin S. Wambaugh; brother, James Donaldson; sisters, Ruthe Donaldson and Joann Dekker; and granddaughter-in-law, Andrea Barton.
Bob graduated from Altoona High School in 1947, where he played basketball, baseball and tennis. He attended Bucknell University.
He played baseball for 11th Ward, the first Kelley Federation Baseball Championship team in Altoona in 1948. Bob coached his three son's baseball teams and won championships in Little League, Teener League and the Kelley Federation League, where he led teams in the AAABA tournament twice.
Robert, a life-long resident of Altoona and Hollidaysburg, was employed in sales management at the Fairview Bakery and at Sky Bros Inc. He retired as Director of Operations from Gateway Foods Inc.
Interests included family, sports, his dogs, volunteering and playing cards. He enjoyed time at the beach and the family cottage.
Bob was a member of the Heidelberg Country Club and the Altoona Old Timers Baseball Association. He volunteered at the Altoona Hospital, Contact Altoona, American Rescue Workers Hollidaysburg and in many capacities at his children's schools.
A lifelong Methodist, Bob faithfully served his church as a youth leader and Sunday school teacher. He was a long-time member of Methodist Church Choirs and served as a soloist. He was a current member of Hollidaysburg First United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, at Hollidaysburg First United Methodist Church, 801 Allegheny St., Hollidaysburg.
There will be an additional hour of visitation from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, at the church.
Interment will take place at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
Arrangements are by The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Hollidaysburg First United Methodist Church, 801 Allegheny St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648; or the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, 916 Hickory St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
