M. Marie "Mamaw" (McCarty) Shiffler, 93, of Meadow Lands, Pa., formerly of Altoona, passed away Aug. 8, 2026, to meet her Lord and Savior and loved ones gone before.
Marie is survived by four daughters: Rhonda Miller (Charles) of Altoona, Janice Johnston (Steven) in Virginia, Deborah Kuhn of Altoona and Ellen Heavner (Kevin) of Meadow Lands; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren, with another expected; a brother, Franklin McCarty (Mary) of Auburn, N.Y.; and numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Walter R. Shiffler; a son, Steven K. Shiffler; two sisters; and four brothers.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., with Pastor Dave Butterbaugh officiating. A private interment will be held at Morningside Cemetery, DuBois.
