John T. Jones, 66, of Altoona, died Tuesday. He was born in Germany, son of the late William and Lois (Bathurst) Jones. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Teresa; daughters, Tara Jones and Tiffany Jones (Paul); grandchildren: Lamar, Samara, Iyla and Ozias; and a sister, Faith Diehl. John graduated from Altoona Area High School in 1979, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired as a custodian from Blair County Courthouse after 20 years and worked at the Jaffa Shrine for more than 10 years. A private celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026. Arrangements are by Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.
