James C. Hoover, 87, of Martinsburg, died Monday. He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Melvin and Alma (Zook) Hoover. His wife, Mary Lou, preceded him in death. James is survived by his children, Todd Hoover and Stephanie Partner; grandchildren: Ben and Adam Hoover, Seth Partner and Olivia Sager; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 1 until the 3 p.m. service Monday, Aug. 24, 2026, at First Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring.
