George E. Wineland, 88, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Saturday at Celebration Villa, Duncansville. He was born in Duncansville, the son of the late Frank and Orveda (Resig) Wineland.
George married Doris McNally on March 31, 1968. She preceded him in death on June 3, 2001.
He is survived by his four loving children: Chuck Wineland (Debbie) of Milton, Del., Shelby Helgert (Ray) of Sciota, Brenda Hughes (Luther) of Williamsburg and Lisa Suckling (Mike) of Hollidaysburg; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
George was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and later retired from Smooth-On Inc.
He had also been a member of the Allegheny Club.
George enjoyed taking care of his trucks and going to flea markets.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg, where military honors will be presented at 7 p.m.
Interment will be held at Carson Valley Cemetery.
