Lowell

Clare Lowell, 75, Hollidaysburg, passed away Saturday at her residence as a result of pancreatic cancer.

She was born in Charles City, Iowa, daughter of Orren and Marjorie Funk. She was the only sister to her five brothers: Linn, David, Errol, Duane and Rolan. She had two adopted children, Kathrena "Katie" and Jonathan "Jon." Her children loved and admired her for the beautiful person she was. She also had a grandson, Tristen, son of Jonathan.

Before retiring, Clare worked in administration and ministries at First Church of Christ, Altoona.

She had significant musical talent and started playing the flute in the fourth grade.

Clare lived her life devoted to her family and faith. She had the gift of making those around her feel peace, love, acceptance and comfort even when she was experiencing difficulties in her own life. She had a love for all those people she had around her and demonstrated a faith in Christ that was an example for all who knew her. Her memory and contributions live on in and with those left behind. She was at peace and looked forward to the promise of II Corinthians 5:8, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."

Friends and family will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, at First Church of Christ, Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Private interment with family will be held at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona. Arrangements are by The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
