Betty Jean Knob, 91, Altoona, passed away Saturday at her residence after an extended illness.

She was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., daughter of the late Clifton and Laura (Mitchell) Campbell. On April 3, 1954, she married Edward Knob in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.

She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years; her son, David Knob, and special friend, Carol Albright, of Altoona; her daughter, Cher Noel, and her husband, David, of Patton; six grandsons: David "DJ" (Lara) of Altoona, Josh (Danielle) of Oakdale, Willie (Erica) of Clearfield, Jonathan of Iowa and Shawn and Cameron of Patton; six great-grandchildren: Alaina, Olivia, Eli, Edie, Ember and Blakely; many dear nieces and nephews; and her special cousin, Gloria Swick.

Betty was the last surviving member of her family. She was preceded in death by her brothers and their spouses: Carl Campbell and Rosemary and Raymond Campbell and Leota.

She retired from the accounts receivable department with Blue and White Travel after 30 years of service. Betty later worked in the offices at Lakemont Park.

She enjoyed volunteering at the Altoona Hospital in later years and she especially looked forward to time spent with her family.

Betty was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her kindness, thoughtfulness and attention to the needs of others will never be forgotten. She was always thankful for everything life gave her. Her last words to anyone were, "Thank you."

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses of Adoration Hospice and Maybrook Hills for their exceptional care.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A funeral service will immediately follow at noon in the Stevens Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Douglas McGaffin officiating.
