Ada Catherine ‘Susie’ Tiesi

Ada Catherine "Susie" Tiesi, 92, of Houtzdale, died Friday, July 31, 2026, at Graystone Manor of Altoona. Born on Feb. 26, 1934, in Rosebud, Coalport, RD, she was the daughter of the late James and Ellen (Mazenko) Cusick. On Feb. 14, 1953, she married Francis M. "Mad" Tiesi. He preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1994.

Susie is survived by six children: Pamela Moyer and her husband, Bill, of Houtzdale; Samuel Tiesi and his wife, Leslie, of Houtzdale; Frank Tiesi and his wife, Renee, of Cherry Tree; Anthony Tiesi and his wife, Carla, of Fallentimber; Lisa Kitko and her husband, Bobby, of Houtzdale; and Beth Ann Yeckley and her fiancee, Dave Roles, of Ebensburg; eight grandchildren: Mark, Sarah, Corinne, Chad, Tyler, Austin, Paige and Michael; as well as six great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn and Patty Cusick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Michael; three sisters: Lorraine, Ellen "Mick" and Monna; and four brothers: Jim "Bud," Edward, Patrick and Larry.

Susie retired from Glendale Junior-Senior High School as Food Service Supervisor.

She was a parishioner of St. Basil the Great Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the St. Basil Rosary Society. She was also a member and past Regent of the Catholic Daughters of America, St. Victoria's Court #646, Houtzdale. Susie belonged to the Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Susie touched many lives with her strong faith, endurance and determination.

Susie's family would like to thank the staff of Graystone Personal Care Home for their care and compassion to Susie and her family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home Inc., Irvona.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. Basil the Great Roman Catholic Church, Coalport, with Fr. Justin Pino as celebrant.

Burial will follow at St. Basil Cemetery, Coalport, RD.
