Sharon Cooney Erb, 66, of Tyrone, formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed away July 13, 2026, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Cherry Hill, N.J., daughter of the late Thomas and Mildred Cooney.
On June 19, 1982, she was united in marriage to Paul Erb. They shared 44 wonderful years together.
Surviving are her husband; a son, Stephen and wife, Cassie, and their children, Charlotte and Lincoln; a daughter, Alyssa; a daughter, Kaitlyn and husband, Brendan, and their children, Thomas and Maeve; a sister, Carol; and brother, Bob.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Joe.
Sharon proudly served for 27 years in ministry, offering care, comfort, leadership and faith to countless people. She served the parishes of St. Luke's in Roaring Spring, Trinity in Woodbury, Trinity in Altoona and First English in Tyrone, among other roles as a hospital chaplain and Director of Pastoral Care with Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries.
Above all, Sharon cherished her family. She was warm, loving, joyful, quick to a smile and happiest when she was simply spending time with her husband, kids and grandkids.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hollidaysburg.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, at the church.
