Richard T. Curry, 76, of Duncansville, passed away Tuesday at his residence. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Eugene and Elizabeth (Hoelzle) Curry.
He first married Anna Marie Maher in 1971, who preceded him in death in 1995. He then married Judy Pounds in 2000.
Surviving are his wife of 26 years; a daughter, Taylor Fay (Eli); two sons, Robert T. (Angela) and Brad J. (Tammie); two stepdaughters, Shelly Hall (Darrel) and Kelly Mellott (Wade); 14 grandchildren: Jenna, Braden, Kahlee, Karah-Anne, Daphne, Wyatt, Ashton, Tanner, Maddie, Delaney, Brody, Farrah, Joshua and Richard "Richie"; eight great-grandchildren; a twin sister, Rosalie Cassarly; three brothers: John, Bill and Charlie; and numerous in-laws.
Richard graduated from Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School in 1967 and was owner and operator of Curry Excavating Inc. and Richard T. Curry Equipment Co. for more than 50 years.
He was a Past President of the Hollidaysburg International Lions Club, where he received the Melvin Jones Award; he was a Past President of the Eastern Bison Association; a member of the ACMOC; the Blair County Builders Association; and the Blair County Conservation District.
Richard was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church.
He enjoyed working, raising buffalo, collecting antique Caterpillar tractors, and he loved hosting gatherings. He enjoyed spending time with his dogs, Bentley and Ruger.
Friends will be received from 12 noon until 2 and 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2026, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Duncansville, with Father Jeremy Mohler Celebrant.
Private interment at New St. Mary Cemetery.
