Mary Lee Morning, 79, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday evening at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Steinbauer) Probst. Mary Lee married Michael A. Morning on May 29, 1971.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years; her son Ryan M. and his wife, Michelle (Curran) Morning of California, Maryland; their sons: Bryce, 13, and Logan, 9; her brother, Frank Probst III of Burke, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; and the Moser and Hildabrand families who helped raise her. She will also be dearly missed by many lifelong friends.
Mary Lee was preceded in death by her half brothers: Terry and Tom Probst; half sister, Suzanne Weber; and sister-in-law, Peggy Probst.
She was a 1964 graduate of Bellwood High School. Mary Lee had been employed by Butterick, Gable's Department Store and the Altoona Hospital.
She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2026, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 308 Old Route 22, Duncansville, with celebrant, Fr. Jeremy Mohler. A private committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
