Gary L. Bechtel, 78, of Martinsburg, passed away Saturday. He was born in Roaring Spring, a son of the late C. Carl and Nancy N. (Metzker) Bechtel. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; a son, Christopher Bechtel; brothers, Lowell and Reed Bechtel; and many nieces and nephews. Gary was a 1965 graduate of Central High School, where he was a standout basketball player. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, July 31, 2026, at Memorial Church of the Brethren, 210 N. Wall St., Martinsburg. Arrangements are by Fink & Stone Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Martinsburg.
