Boyd Glenn Miller, 88, of Bellwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at his home. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Ulysses G. and Mae Louise (Glenn) Miller.
On May 26, 1961, he married Carol L. Burns in Bellwood, recently celebrating 65 years of marriage.
Surviving are his wife; two children, Scott (Trish) Miller of Bellwood and Marilyn (James) Peterson of State College; daughters-in-law, Melissa and Irina Miller; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, with more on the way; his sister-in-law, Jean Berkstresser; brother-in-law, George Kimmen; and five nieces.
He was preceded in death by three sons: Byron, Douglass and Stephen; and his sister, Linda Kimmen.
Glenn was a 1957 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957-61, stationed in Spain and Germany. Following his discharge, he worked for the National Security Agency in Maryland before his return to Bellwood. In 2000, Glenn retired as a quality inspector at PPG Industries, Tipton, after many years of service.
Glenn lived his life full of love and devotion to his wife and family and always looked forward to hugs and conversations with his children and grandchildren. Holidays were a highlight for him, but even moreso, he relished a delicious meal. Glenn had a true enthusiasm for sports, especially Bellwood-Antis, Penn State and Pittsburgh teams, never missing a Steelers game.
Glenn will be remembered most for his love of his family -- and a good meal. He will be dearly missed.
A private ceremony will be held to honor Glenn's life.
Arrangements are by Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood.
