Amy E. (Dunkel) Laughlin, 65, Altoona, died Saturday afternoon at UPMC Altoona surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Howard P. and Betty L. (Burket) Dunkel. On June 18, 2011, she married Robert V. Laughlin at Bethany Lutheran Church, Altoona.
Surviving are her husband, Bob; a stepdaughter, Selena M. Laughlin; a brother, Gary Dunkel (Karen); two sisters, Eileen Walters (Dave) and Elaine Bender (Dick); and numerous extended family members.
Amy was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Dunkel; and a stepsister, Lois Ondesko.
She was a 1978 graduate of Altoona Area High School and a graduate of the medical secretary program at YTI. She was formerly employed at Hills Department Store, Altoona, then by the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation and finally retired from Unlimited Care Providers, Johnstown, on Jan. 6, 2026. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Altoona.
Amy enjoyed photography, social media, long car rides, shopping and dining out.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., the Rev. Traci Marriott officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
